Violet Crown Cycles

Notice: Violet Crown Cycles is not currently accepting new orders. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter for unpdates and order availability.

We have developed an ordering process that will make it easy to make educated choices in customizing your bike and keep you informed with how your order is progressing.

Step 1. Getting measured for your bike

Your Violet Crown Cycles bike is tailored to the dimensions of your body like a fine suit. This means we need information about your body to design your bike and look for any issues that might mean a change in tubing size and geometry to better suit your needs.

You will need another person to do help with these measurements. Inches or millimeters are OK, just be consistent on which system you use throughout. Please measure to at least the closest 1/8 inch if using English. All measurements should be made on a hard surface.

See the attached PDF form for more info on where to measure. Save all this information, as you will need it when you place your order.

Step 2. Ordering your bike

Using our order form, customize your bike to your liking. We have included descriptions of each option with pictures where we have them to aid you in making your decisions. Once you have made your order, you can pay online by credit card or send a check. As soon as we have received your payment, we will begin step 3.

To order, use this form, attached here in pdf format.

Step 3. Designing your bike

Bike CADWe will design your bike using the drafting software BikeCAD Pro. You will receive an electronic design of your bike via e-mail within 2 business days. Simply print out the design, sign it, and fax or e-mail it back to us to get the building process started.

Note on order cancellation: You may cancel your order and receive a refund minus a 15% cancellation fee at any time until you sign off on the CAD design of your bike. This cancellation fee covers our book keeping expenses and design time. After sign off, we will have ordered all the materials for your bike and begun work, and there will be no refund.

Step 4. Building Your Bike

This is the part where you get to relax while we build your bike. You will receive updates from us with pictures of your bike as we complete each part of the build: Beginning of the building, Finishing of the Frame, Painting of the Frame, Final Build of the Bike. This is a good time to think about where you are going to go on your first ride.

If there are any issues with availability of components or accessories you've requested, we'll contact you during this time to let know and allow you to change your order or simply wait for the part.

Step 5. Receiving your bike

Congratulations. You are now the proud owner of a bike that doesn't just function and fit you well, but also looks great. Once we've done the final build up of your bike, we'll send you an update with a picture of your bike. At this point, the bike will be available for pick up or we will package the bike for delivery depending the delivery method you choose. If you are picking up, we'll contact you about scheduling a time to stop by our workshop to get your new steed.
